Report Cards Are In...

July 29th, 2011
Thanks to all who took the time to fill out our annual Festival Survey, and congratulations to Doug who is busy planning his next vacation as the winner of the $1000 Westjet voucher!
Survey results are used for so many things in post-Festival wrap up and future planning, they help us gage what went right and what we could do better. They help us apply for grant funding and estimate local economic spending related to the event. They also help us keep in touch with what is important to our community and guests.
Here’s a peak at what you liked, in response to the question “What do you like about the Festival?”...
“You have talent that interests all ages of guests. It's impossible not to find one band we might like to see...”
“Awesome bands, super organized and FREE!!!!”
“Seeing Sarah McLachlan make a guest appearance!”
“I love seeing the bands & seeing everyone down at the park enjoying the other things that the Festival has to offer. I really like how nice & helpful everyone is. Plus it’s a great place to meet new friends and for families to have a great time during the 4 days.”
“It's a great promotion for the GREAT City of Burlington! I like that it's free - thanks to all the sponsors! And special thanks to the countless hours the planners and volunteers put in to make the Festival a success!”
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, but as with anything, there is always room for improvement. In response the question “What do you NOT like about the Festival and what would you change if you could?”...
“Directions for where to catch the shuttle bus are hard to find in the paper. Tip - you could add this to your list of "green" initiatives in the paper, as you have on the website.”
“Crowds (but what can you expect!)”
“That it is only four days, if it were done during a long weekend it could be one day longer.”
“...prefer to be able to walk around with my beverage, the crowds, the mess and the parking mania are to be expected.”
“The parking. Very difficult to find any...”
Crowd control, green initiatives and Festival growth are on the agenda, as always, we welcome volunteers and encourage anyone who is interested to sit on a year-round committee.
As for parking, there’s no way around this one, parking will always be a challenge during a large event in the Downtown core, remember our shuttle service and bike corral and save your money for Festival fun, instead of a City parking ticket :)
